I grew up, & spent most of my life, in the west island suburbs of the city of Montreal (also in the city) & that’s in the province of Québec, in Canada!!!

The city of Montreal is on an island, in the french-speaking province of Quebec. We speak English a lot, as well! There are many beautiful places (and homes) on the water, because its an island! The water is the rivers, and the lakes. Apart from downtown itself, there are many trees and natural spaces integrated all around. We have 4 seasons here; a very hot summer, a nice fall with crisp weather and beautiful colors on the trees, a cold snowy winter, and a very special springtime where everything blooms all over again.

Montreal is a large city, and there are many nice neighborhoods in it & around. You can’t want for much here! There are so many cultural places, amazing restaurants, & great shopping, all in a great variety.

Lachine & the Old Port in Old Montreal are where Canada itself was founded; where we were first landed, and the country was built. There is Old Europe there!

Even though I am very well-traveled, I always come home, to here, where I grew up & spent most of my life.

I went to school in the city, had many art shows all over, plus I am adventurous, so I have seen so many places here.

There is also so much beauty on all the outskirts around, where the landscape changes to more natural & countryside. But also with many small towns!

The Real Princess
(The Princess & The Pea)

 

In this story, a prince is looking for a real princess to marry. Each woman that presents themselves as a real princess turns out to not be a true princess. When the heroine in this story shows up to the prince’s castle during a rainstorm, she presents herself as a princess. The prince’s mother tests the girl by inviting her to stay the night, and then places a single pea in between 20 mattresses and 20 quilts. The girl has a hard time getting any sleep and wakes up bruised by the pea. Her royal sensitivity indicates to the prince that the girl is actually a real princess. The two get married and the pea is put on permanent display in a museum.

 

The princess is sitting on top of layers of mattresses and bedding. She is sitting up, looking uncomfortable. Unbeknownst to the princess, there is a pea stuck between the bedding. Her gentle and sensitive royal blood immediately senses the pea as a hard spot in the bedding, negatively affecting her sleep. If you look closely, you can see the pea atop the blue and white checkered bedding, depicted as recently tumbled out from the bedding.

“I had a dentist appointment today, for a small filling.

It was so hectic there, & they made me wait so long, that I cried.

It wasn’t even about the dental work.

I thought that I would have to just leave, with my tooth still sick.

I was also very worried that I wouldn’t make it in time to go get the pet food & supplies for all our cats, & for Petey.

It was very hard. The tears just burst out.

That’s me at home after.

Sick tooth healed, so thank God.
