(June 21st, 2019)
I made this image today, using a painting called Girl at Piano, by Roy Lichtenstein, as my starting point.
Remember! Roy Lichtenstein’s real name was Leo Mates, and he was the heir to the royal bloodline… & thus the king of Spain!

I found, bought,,,, & repaired… a mini framed Matisse.

The style of these groovy chicks is like “The Joy of Life” (one of Matisse’s well-known masterpieces)
Can you see what stands out in particular…?
The name on the back of the painting is not, however, Henri Matisse! It says; “Sisters”, by Marie Laurencin

I played Bach on the piano; performance video below.
The term for the artist Bach is “Composer”. Its means he wrote music. Composers for the piano, or classical music orchestras, have historic periods, like art history, or like general history. (Like, for example, Baroque.)

Let’s Do It (Let’s Fall in Love)
Song by Alanis Morissette
Birds do it, bees do it
Even educated fleas do it
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love
In Spain, the best upper sets do it
Lithuanians and let’s do it
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love
The dutch in old Amsterdam do it
Not to mention the Finns
Folks in Siam do it
Think of Siamese twins
Some Argentine, without means, do it
People say, in Boston, even beans do it
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love
Romantic sponges, they say, do it
Oysters, down in oyster bay, do it
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love
Cold cape cod clams, against their wish, do it
Even lazy jellyfish do it
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love
Electric eels, I might add, do it
Though it shocks ‘em, I know.
Why ask if shad do it
Waiter, bring me shad roe.
In shallow shoals, English soles do it
Goldfish, in the privacy of bowls, do it
Let’s do it, let’s fall in love

Happy Canada Day!
Tuesday, July 2nd 2019
Did you notice this thing in the photos of the cats’ place? It’s an amulet~ Its metal, there’s an inlaid crystal,,,,,,,,,, & MARKINGS~ …It has a loop for putting on a chain or string ~
The markings on the amulet tell a story about animals! About people and animals, specifically. It says they can bite, they can stomp, they can be dangerous, but they can make a person’s heart, home and family whole! The amulet says to be careful, and kind and firm with them!
It resembles an inukshuk somewhat, and the shapes are very much teeth, trees; natural things.

Wednesday, July 3rd 2019
Here is my precise detailed reading of this amulet, by symbols. (I work hard for you….)

The Animal Amulet
Maybe its called a Talisman, or a Breastplate.
It has a loop, like a pendant.
Its about 3 by 2 inches.
Its made of metal, with markings carved into it, but there is also a beautiful stone. The stone is not turquoise; its too hard, and the shade of blue is deeper.
The stone is made like a 2/3 globe, a BLUE ONE, LIKE EARTH.
This could have been understood in a holistic way, if there was not yet knowledge of the concept of the globe shape of earth.
It reads:
“Watch out, horses can stomp. They can charge forward. But they can be very proud, even though they are dangerous, strong, wild animals.
Animals are people, and friendly. They need to eat everyday, they need care, they even need you.
They can be part of the strength of your home, or village, like the rest of nature.
They can still be aggressive, they can still bite, even though they are tame, but they still want to be part of your home.
Its time to get up in the morning, its time to work, its time to eat, but me; man – I like feeding them, because I love them and their wild spirit.
Man is king of his world when he is gentle, and respectful.
Remember to be firm but kind.
Welcome to my family, we are strong here.
Come, Wlecome t Knata!”

This painting is by Nin. (Ian). Nin painted this in 1551. “The Story if Nimh”~ what I call the “mimi mona lisa”!
The glass is old… & somewhat smoky. I was trying very hard to get good shots of it here~ with the light, the smoky glass,,,, & no reflections on the glass!!! Close, far,,,, ugh! The blue drapery setting is beautiful… purrfect even… another chapter to the secret, if Nimh..
Its mini… and Mimi is as good! Different quality to them… I like Mimi better

Is it me? To be the piano grad, that had to be a woman? Or a girl? Or is it NIn himself, but as a girl, like a dream?

I found art by Nin!
Ian had made a very intricate watercolor, a long time ago, thats a study of flowers, like botany. It is a style that exists in painting! From the Victorian period, where the plants have meaning, and it was illustrative, like a study of botany, but also in the history of classical painting- where plants, trees, fruits, flowers or leaves had different meanings, or were used as representational imagery.

Mimi & The Mona Lisa~ Contrast and compare
The Mona Lisa is a portrait of a woman, in oil paint, from hundreds of years ago. It is one of the most famous paintings in the world. “Mimi”, as I named her, is a small painting of a girl as well, that I recently found and bought in a store. I called the painting Mimi because Nin painted it, and it looks like both of us at the same time; we both have similar long hair, and he plays piano, like me. When I found this painting, we had just been on an artistic course about our classical piano playing (above). The title Mimi has M in it too, like the Mona Lisa! With my artistic eye, I saw a resemblance between the paintings, and differences, at the same time. The Mimi made me think of the way I looked at a young age, as a young girl, learning the piano. She looks studious, pretty, and serious, and the portrait is lovely.
What is comparable between the two? The quality of the painting that I call Mimi is exquisite. Both portraits fit the young woman in the picture space in a similar way; seated, and they both are shown posed with their hands together. The colors of their dresses are dark, with a dark background behind them. Both figures look peaceful.
There are, however, stylistic differences between Da Vinci and Nin’s portraits. One painting might appeal more to one person, the other to another. Remember, I am pitting a new painting against the Mona Lisa! Its a good comparison, Nin. Not all art history contrast and compare essays show two things that are the same!
So what, speaking in art historical, or stylistic, terms, makes these pieces different from one another? Mimi’s portrait has more realism; like Raphael. It’s noteworthy that Mimi looks similar in style to what Raphael painted. It means this portrait could be just as old as The Mona Lisa, or a Raphael painting- from the timeframe of the Renaissance in Italy. Contemporary portraits are not rendered like the Mimi!
While still on the subject of rendering, The Mona Lisa is painted in a more figurative way; she is well-known for sitting in her “sfumato” background. It means misty, smoky, and dark. She is clearly a woman in robes, or a dress, but she is interpreted with abstraction in the style, like the landscape background she sits in. She looks like a character; the famous eye-catching character she is! There is green nature behind her, and the landscape goes back deeply. Is she sitting by a window, or on a hill? Mimi is seated comfortably propped on a dark desk, with a deep brown background. It implies a dark room, not a landscape.
The synthesis of this thought: they are portraits from two contemporary artists of the Italian Renaissance period, who had two different, yet similar, styles.

TUESDAY/SEPTEMBER/3RD/2019
Labradorite is a type of stone that can be found in several parts of the world, including Canada. It can be called a stone, a crystal, or a gem. It is gray, black, and slate blue, in a mottled pattern, and has blue to yellow iridescence, when reflected in light. Different pieces of Labradorite have different sections of iridescence. Some pieces could be very beautiful, but not have as much reflection as other samples or specimens.
In my photographs there is a very big rough piece of natural Labradorite, plus obelisks. The obelisks have a polished finish. The Labaradorite obelisks look different than the natural piece. The obelisks are too long to be called crystal points, and too short to be referred to as wands*.
There is also one obelisk that looks like Labradorite’s cousin. The pattern on it is more defined, with separation in the spots & stripes. Did all of these crystals form near each other in the earth?
The seller gave the blue-spotted crystal the title (and classification): ZBD Natural Blueamphibole Obelisk Quartz Crystal Wand Point healing 60-80G
*wand; a real-life thing called a wand. A long piece of pointed crystal, lol
Did you know….? Agate, Quartz, Jasper and Amethyst are the most common crystals, and exist in abundance. There are many varieties, colors, forms, and types.

Gallery: Bear Stamp& More Bear
I made money for my husband, Keanu; I offered him more Bear stamps, because he’s my big Alpha Bear. He told me that he thinks of himself as the Bear of our wolf-pack. This because he never leaves my side, by about one foot. If the others are moving around, they bring back for him, because he is my shadow. In our woods there are black bears, grizzly bears, polar bears, and spirit bears. A spirit bear is a white bear, but it does not live in the arctic like polar bear. Spirit bears live in the forest. Like the trees, they are ancients. Bears are the parents of the woods; other animals ask for their help, or dance around them, to make sure that they are okay; & taking care of themselves.

This is a fluorite specimen in the shape of a heart~
I will explain more about it later♡♡♤♤◇
♧♧☆
(yesterday)
“ZBD754 Natural Colour Fluorite Crystal Heart Cut and Polished Mineral Gift 125G” (classification by the seller)
Fluorite is a mineral crystal that is glassy, with light purple & light green. It is supposed to be calming, as a palm stone, so the heart shape of my fluorite crystal is nice. A “palm stone” is defined as a stone that sits in your hand comfortably- so that instead of moving your hand nervously, or having nervous thoughts, you hold it. I have big hands, and it’s a big heart!
I am not a fan of purple plus green; its not one of my color choices… for in a painting, a drawing, a dress, etc. The green plus purple in my heart crystal is balanced in a way that I like, and can appreciate! The purple is dark, and looks bluish with the sea foam and mint-green shades.
There are different degrees of transparency in my fluorite. Some of it is very glassy, even all the way through; other spots are opaque, and other spots you can see into the crystal.
As a collector; this specimen has many things that make it more interesting- and more valuable. There is the heart shape alone, its size, plus there is the dark purple, the transparency… the chevrons in its formation that are unbroken fissures, internal plates or watery clouds… and, there are what’s called inclusions, some even so reflective that they are called rainbows.
When I photographed my fluorite, yesterday, I was catching all the things I describe here. Have a better look at the photographs, now!
