Watercolors by Nico Madres, February 6th, 2015.
Nico Madres, a.k.a. Chris Blaho, a.k.a. Pablo Picasso Jr., was another young artist robbed of his legacy, as was I. Artists are not slaves, and don’t thrive on pride alone. We work, and we work hard. Our talent in an oeuvre that took a lifetime of practice and harnessing our skills. Working means money, normally. I was Gauguin, and other acronyms they gave me, and I don’t have a cent for that. Me and my circle of artists make art as a group; the boys reinterpret my projects. Since a lot of art got wrongfully attributed, we’re gonna fix that right up.
Nico made his own watercolor paints with pigment powders for these works.
N.B.: Helen Blaho, Nico’s mother, was one of my good friends for many years. My mother, sister, and I, have many fond memories and jokes about her funny company. Helen was very secretive, with a lot of pride. She was a talented painter, and a hard-working working mom; running her home and raising her children. I saw her work in the late 90′s, in the Guggenheim “swirl” in NYC. Nico’s grandmother was very famous; meet Sophia Petrillo, star of the 1980′s sitcom “Golden Girls”. “Sophia’s” husband, Nico’s grandfather, was a well-known Canadian artist, and so was Nico’s father, who did paintings under the name Georgia O’Keefe. He also sang as Quebec darling Antoine Gratton. All in the family!

Rings from Alicia, February 7th, 2015.
I made some rings of my own for my loves, a “daddy” ring, now nicknamed “The Duke”, an engagement ring for Brandon, and an engagement ring for Nico. Soon to come as well, the engagement ring I made for Mat. And others I had or bought…But this is tragedy, because the boys just don’t come.
FRIDA, February 7th, 2015.
Marker drawing with Frida Kahlo, 2014. This is an artwork by Mexican artist Frida, done with me (Alicia) drawing too, side by side.
I met Frida, and decided to get her making art, so I invited her to draw with me, with my supplies. She left me the drawing. She said, “don’t forget me”.

Paintings by Johh Constantinopoulos, March 22nd 2015.
John is an expert reproduction artist. The different techniques he can copy impeccably are incredible! So is his color mixing of complex palettes. Maybe we shouldn’t let him near a museum…More paintings to come in the next few days.
John Constantinopoulos was my made up name for Jade. I made it up when we were kids. So really, these are Jade’s paintings.
Super special engagement ring for John. March 23rd, 2015.

The story of the wolfy hat. May 15th, 2015.
In hospital over the winter, a social worker would come visit to take patients on a walk once a week. I decided to go along, and this time she had maybe a dozen patients coming with her. She had another young girl who worked at the hospital with her, so we all got all suited up and left. The lady was really over-eager cause of all the people, and she led us through a snowy, icy alley as a short cut. Right away part of the group were off like a shot to her super-speed cadence. I was in the slower group, and was worried about an old woman walking with us that didn’t even have proper shoes for the snow and ice. It was precarious footing. We got out of the alley, and onto the road, and the group ahead kept getting farther and farther in the distance. Finally they were out of sight. I looked at my watch, and realizing by now the walk should be half over, I decided to tell everyone to turn around and head back. I knew the route, and that without going through the stupid alley. So I led everyone back (everyone in the slow group), and when I got back to hospital they were happy to see us, they were very worried! Apparently one of the orderleys had a bad feeling that we were gonna lose patients. Anyways, before we took the elevator up in the hospital, we had walked through the corridor, and I had found a fur ‘bandeau’ just hanging on a railing. I picked it up, and realized it was wolf fur! It was all white, like the white wolves at the ecomuseum. They’re my friends. The bandeau even had a piece of dirt caked on it, it looked like wolfy poop! Wolves have a strong couple in the pack that take care of all the wolves, as they hunt and travel in their packs. I think a wolfy friend was proud of my leadership in the snowy winter, taking care of the patients, and left me a present. Animals are in tune with people and nature, and sometimes do neat things. The strip probably came from his scruff, on the back of his neck, because he was well fed and had some thick excess fur. Don’t doubt the miracles of nature! So that’s the story of my wolfy hat.
