And then, there were the tiniest things: the smell of my favourite dish being prepared when I step into the hall, the sound of rain when I am half-sleepy at 5 AM, the soft “take care” from my mother before she hangs up the call, ten minutes of extra sleep after the alarm goes off, a small band playing music by the riverside on a late windy evening, the view of airplanes from giant glass windows, and random urges to text people who have been strangers for a while, the light tapping of feet and singing in a low voice when my roommate cooks, the distant echo of cheers and fireworks when someone’s getting married, the smell of Persian tea brewing, his light kisses on my forehead and cheek when I am about to leave for work, an early morning breakfast on the train, sleeping with mellow fairy lights on, and remembering that the warmth of the sun will seep through my skin tomorrow even when it’s been raining all day.
//the world is filled with tiny things full of life.
please, don’t stop looking at them.//
