Wedding Day
It was a beautiful spring day in Berlint, and the air was filled with anticipation and the sweet scent of blooming flowers. Yor Briar and Loid Forger, both caught up in the delicate balance of their secret lives, were about to embark on an unexpected journey together: their wedding day.
The ceremony was small and intimate, held in a charming garden adorned with roses and ivy. It was a perfect cover, arranged swiftly yet meticulously to appear genuine. Yor, radiant in a simple yet elegant white dress, stood under a floral archway, her heart racing with a mixture of nerves and excitement.
Loid, impeccably dressed in a tailored suit, approached her with his usual calm demeanor, though he couldn’t help but feel a flutter of something unfamiliar in his chest. He had orchestrated countless missions, but this—pretending to be in love for the sake of a cover—felt surprisingly significant.
Anya, their adopted daughter, was the flower girl, scattering petals with boundless enthusiasm. Her wide, sparkling eyes reflected her delight at seeing her parents in such a happy setting. Bond, their loyal dog, watched with a wagging tail, seemingly understanding the importance of the day.
Among the small gathering of guests were their close allies: Scruffy, Loid’s trusted informant, and Fiona Frost, his dedicated colleague from WISE. Scruffy, with his characteristic unkempt appearance, smiled warmly, genuinely happy for his friend. Fiona, though maintaining her usual professional demeanor, couldn’t hide the slight blush on her cheeks as she watched Loid and Yor together. Yuri Briar, Yor’s younger brother, was also there, his emotions a mix of pride and a tinge of jealousy as he saw his beloved sister marry.
As they stood before the officiant, Loid took Yor’s hands in his, gazing into her eyes with a sincerity that caught them both off guard. “Yor,” he began, his voice steady but soft, “this union may have started as a necessity, but I promise to protect and support you, no matter what.”
Yor smiled, a blush coloring her cheeks. “Loid, I may not be perfect, but I will do my best to be a good wife and mother. Together, we can create a safe and happy family.”
The officiant smiled warmly at the couple. “By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”
Loid hesitated for a fraction of a second before leaning in, gently pressing his lips to Yor’s. It was a tender, sincere kiss, sealing their vows and the beginning of their shared life. The small gathering of guests, a mix of colleagues from their separate worlds, clapped and cheered.
As they walked back down the aisle, hand in hand, Anya ran up to them, hugging them tightly. “Mama! Papa! We did it!”
Loid and Yor exchanged a look over Anya’s head, a silent agreement passing between them. This union, while born out of necessity, was becoming something more—a real family, built on mutual respect, care, and perhaps something deeper.
The day ended with a small reception, filled with laughter, toasts, and even a bit of dancing. Scruffy and Fiona joined in the celebrations, with Scruffy toasting to Loid’s happiness and Fiona secretly wishing she could be closer to Loid in her own way. Yuri, meanwhile, kept a close eye on his new brother-in-law, torn between his protective instincts and his happiness for Yor.
As the stars began to twinkle in the night sky, Loid and Yor shared a quiet moment together, away from the crowd.
“Thank you, Yor,” Loid said softly. “For everything.”
Yor smiled, her eyes shining with gratitude and something more. “Thank you, Loid. I’m glad we’re in this together.”
And so, under the starlit sky, the Forger family’s story continued, bound by secrets, duty, and a growing bond that promised a hopeful future.

The Empress represents the Earth Mother in tarot — the goddess and divine feminine personified. She is nature, around us but also within us, the ever-unfolding source of life-giving power. The card typically shows a woman surrounded by abundant nature; sometimes as the harvest. She is depicted pregnant, & in a beautiful dress.
